Let me start this post by stating how weird it is that my little sister is married! I mean, it feels like just yesterday she was “yay-high” and bugging the mess out of me all the time. Okay, maybe that’s still true (I kid I kid!). But seriously, if you have younger siblings, you know how it feels to watch them hit big milestones in their life and realize that you’re not a bunch of kids anymore.
My sister got married at a popular country cabin in our hometown.* This place was a goldmine of antiques and I would LOVE to go back to shoot a portrait session there one day.
My youngest brother escorting my beautiful mother down the aisle. Shooting the processional was really tough because the bride’s side faced RIGHT into the sun.
My second oldest brother walked my sister down the aisle (our dad passed away when we were little). Ali had the sweetest look on her face while she was looking at Dewayne on the way down the aisle. Then, she tripped on her dress a little and I caught a typical Ali laugh!
The reception was BYOB. My brother came in double-fisting. Way to represent Brandon! 😉
Alison danced with our brother during the traditional father-daughter dance. It was so sweet!
Congratulations Alison & Dewayne!
*I took photos at my sister’s wedding as an “Uncle Bob”. You know, that guest that has really nice camera equipment? Only, I make it a point never to get in the paid photographer’s way. If you’re ever a “guest photog”, do the bride and paid photographer a favor by making sure to be considerate of what they’re there to do and never take the 1st shooter position during those one-time moments like the cake cutting or bouquet toss!
