Oh. Em. Gee. Y’all.
Last night I photographed the first ever Athens NotWedding. Words cannot even begin to do this event justice. I’m just going to have to pray my images captured the insane amount of beauty some of Athens and Atlanta’s finest wedding vendors created.
But before I begin showing off all of that gorgeousness, let me start with the couple who renewed their vows at the big, fake wedding!
Andrew and Katie are the real life Barbie and Ken. Except they have REAL amazing personalities to go with their ridiculously good looks. Their newlywed love is absolutely adorable. Andrew would randomly blurt out how beautiful he thought Katie looked and Katie can’t help but smile when she’s near her beau. I’m so glad I got to photograph them during both the Save the Date shoot AND the NotWedding, because quite frankly, I would have been one jealous photographer knowing I missed out on their real wedding otherwise.
I only had one week to organize this shoot from a concept in my mind to a full blown reality. Once I secured some fabulous vendors to help me bring that concept to life, I knew I had to do something this area has not seen before. So I went with an upscale west-coast bohemian chic theme! I knew from the beginning I wanted to incorporate a floral headpiece and a teepee style tent for the lovebirds, and our vendors did not disappoint. We used a shared Pinterest board for what I believe its purpose is truly for: to inspire. I carefully curated some images that expressed my vision but let each individual have free reign on the way they decided to interpret the theme. I am absolutely blown away by their creativity! Take a look for yourself and then stay tuned for images from the NotWedding Athens to hit the blog soon!
