Just a month after photographing their engagement session, I was back in Savannah for Daniel and Anna’s wedding at the Olde Pink House! But first, I met Anna and her girls at the Westin Hotel across from River Street. Although it was the 4th of July holiday weekend, Savannah seemed to belong only to Daniel and Anna. There were no delays getting from one place to another and everyone we encountered was full of love.
When I arrived at the hotel, I found Anna’s youngest daughter snuggled up in bed with her stuffed animals waiting for her dress to be steamed. Speaking of dresses, we couldn’t find a spot to take photos of Anna’s wedding dress in the room, so we had to play “dodge the groom” as we scouted out a place in the hotel!
Look who got dressed!
While the ladies got dressed, my second shooter Sonya headed to the guys’ room to snap shots of them getting ready.
We even had to play “stealth” to capture Anna’s bridal shots. I had scouted out a spot behind the hotel for these photos but the guys’ room overlooked it! We were constantly checking over our shoulders to make sure no one was watching!
Once we got to the Olde Pink House, the ladies were tucked away in the tavern bar for last minute touch ups and a glass of wine.
Meanwhile, the guys were sneaking peeks as the guests arrived.
My heart swelled as I watched Mya and Jordan walk their mom down the aisle.
In addition to traditional vows, Daniel vowed to love and care for Anna’s girls as his own. I loved how they incorporated the girls into the ceremony because, after all, marriage makes people family.
Just in case there was any doubt that I have the coolest clients, these two danced back down the aisle to Black Eyes Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling”. Love it!
See that? That stuff is called “party starters”. And Daniel and Anna sure know how to throw a party!
I loved the Father-Daughter dance. Halfway through, Anna invited all the daddy-daughters onto the dance floor.
After dinner, the best man and matron of honor gave their hilarious toasts.
And then the DJ got it started!
Everyone got their boogey on that night! Even this cutie pie got out of his wheelchair to bust a few moves! How awesome is he?!
Being the 4th of July weekend, there was no shortage of sparklers for the grand exit!
Congratulations Daniel and Anna and thank you so much for allowing me to capture your big day! There was so much love that night and I never once felt like I was at work. You two are the best and I look forward to cocktails at a Vic’s sometime soon with my new friends!
