With every session, I try my best to put clients at ease so they can be themselves as I stick a huge camera in their faces. 😉
But with Donald and his wife Jessica, it seemed to go the other way around. I’ve never laughed during a session as much as I did with them. And as cliché as it may sound, their love really shows in their photos. It was an all around win for me!
Sometimes I struggle over whether a photo looks better in black and white or color. Thoughts?
The geese (these are geese, right? not ducks?) at Cherokee Lake Park are really used to humans, so we thought it would be a cool opportunity for some unique photos. Although we did have to avoid some, uh, “droppings”…
Some of you may remember when I asked for cotton field locations on the Elle Golden Photography Facebook page. Well, it was for these two because Jessica wanted to make “Wishing You a White Christmas” holiday cards. (people who live in the deep south understand that) Unfortunately, the cotton field we picked out ahead of time was harvested before our session. But Don and Jess rolled with the punches and we used the picnic blanket, wine, and mason jars I brought for the cotton field for the park instead!
How beautiful is Jessica’s smile? It’s so natural and welcoming. I’m sure it’s probably one of the things that caught Donald’s attention when they first met.
So thanks Donald and Jessica for the great, laughter-filled session!
And because Donald and Jessica were referred to me by their friends Clarissa and Michael, it made me realize how important word of mouth is to my business. So I’m working on a new referral program so people like Clarissa and Michael can earn points towards discounted and sometimes even free Elle Golden Photography products and sessions for helping me find clients and continue to grow into the photographer I want to become! Stay tuned!
