Hi blog world! I’m back from the dead (aka the busy holiday season). I finally sat down and gave myself a new blogging schedule I’m sure will be successful this go-round! One of my New Year’s resolutions is to keep the blog up-to-date, but to do that, first I have to work through my backlog of posts. Being relatively new to the professional photography game, I underestimated the need for an efficient workflow beyond quick image turnarounds for the client. I’ve learned they also want to see their images shared on the blog and Facebook, so I’m determined to make that happen!
First up is baby Ethan! You may remember his mama’s maternity session? Yeah, yeah…it’s been awhile! But hey, better late than never, eh?
Little Ethan actually made his debut the day I hit “publish” on the maternity session. Check out this tiny cutie in his adorable safari-themed nursery!
I love when I capture those elusive newborn smirks! So precious!
This next shot is one of those “miracle” shots. Toward the end of Ethan’s posed images, we decided to try for the “head on hands” shot. I’d never attempted it before, but Ethan had been doing so well. We literally got him into place and he stayed there all by himself long enough for me to fire off a few shots. Immediately after, he promptly fell over into his parents’ nearby hands and became too wide awake to continue trying. I still haven’t been able to replicate this shot since then (I don’t do too many newborn sessions so I just haven’t had many chances to try). Although the lighting isn’t perfect, it’s one of my absolute favorite images!
I simply ADORE when babies go into “froggy” mode.
Big sis Taylor is so in love with her little brother. She certainly has that motherly instinct already!
Ahh, babies. Happy and sleepy one second, and downright cranky the next! I think he was ready to end his first modeling session. 😉
After a quick feeding to calm him down a bit, I took Ethan outside with the entire family for some more traditional portraits with him.
Ethan is now 7 months old! It’s insane how time flies! His mommy and I are good friends, so for Christmas, I gifted the Landaverde family with a free 6 month mini-session. Stay tuned for those images. They’re stuck in the backlog, but I PROMISE to have them up soon!
