Okay, I have a confession.
I totally owe the success of this session to my 5 nieces and 1 nephew. I’ve learned a great deal of how to act around and communicate with kids from them. This all became very handy information when an old pageant bud of mine contacted me about a session with her son. I’d seen photos of little Case on Facebook and couldn’t wait to meet and photograph the cutie pie!
Then our session rolled around and the little bugger made. me. WORK. for my money. Photographing toddlers is no small feat (dare I say one the hardest types of photography?). Thankfully for me, Case was so stinkin’ adorable that I didn’t even realize how much chasing I did with him until I got home and crashed from exhaustion. 😉
We started at a Pavo cotton field I spotted a few days before our session. But I should have known by my recent track record with cotton fields that this field would be harvested that morning, too! We decided to go for it anyways and you really can’t tell it was picked since they left so much of it behind.
While we were shooting at the cotton field, I spotted a couple horses across the street. So we decided to try for some shots with the horses (and ponies!) and right as we walked up, the owner of the farm returned home and gave us full permission to shoot wherever we’d like. Thanks Jack Walker of Pavo!
Case was absolutely beside himself watching the “horseys” play around. And I kid you not, when the horse above saw how thrilled Case was, he began showing out for him!
After the horses got tired of playing for the camera, we drove into Thomasville to finish our session. Kelly & Case did an outfit change and we braved the quickly dropping temperatures and wind for the second half of our session.
I LOVE this shot. Case went in to give his mommy a kiss but it totally looks like he’s telling her a secret.
